tcviz VISUALS TO POWER BI

Tile Grid Map Pro

Turn latitude & longitude into clean, comparable tile grids — 27 countries built in, or load any TopoJSON boundary you like. Every region gets equal visual weight, so small areas stop disappearing behind large ones.

Why tile grids? On a real map, Madrid is a dot and Castilla is a continent — area hides the data. Equal tiles make every region readable at a glance.

From raw coordinates to a publishable regional map — no shapefiles, no GIS, no code.

Key benefits

  • Fair comparison — equal tiles remove the area bias that hides small, dense regions
  • No GIS skills needed — feed it latitude and longitude, nothing else
  • Fast on big data — bounding-box prefilter and cached scans keep 30K rows responsive
  • Truly yours — any TopoJSON becomes a Power BI map, stored inside the report

Tips & best practices

  • Use decimal degrees (40.4168 / -3.7038), not DMS strings
  • Aggregation is auto-detected per field — override it in Map Settings if needed
  • Turn on cell labels only above ~20px tiles, or they clutter
  • Prefer diverging scales for variance vs. target, sequential for volume
  • Simplify TopoJSON before loading — fewer vertices, faster render
  • Keep conditional formatting off while exploring, on for the final report
